September 29, 2011, Santa Fe, NM — Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson will be attending the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque, New Mexico October 2-3 to celebrate the event’s 40th anniversary.
On Sunday, October 2 Johnson will be enjoying the 40th anniversary with friends and family as well as taking part in a balloon ride at the fiesta.
Governor Johnson has been flying for 10 years. Most of his experience competing comes from the America’s Challenge gas balloon race, which takes place as part of the Balloon Fiesta. The object of the challenge is to fly the greatest distance from Albuquerque while competing within the event rules. Using winds and weather systems competitors can fly more than 1,000 miles and have traveled as far as Canada and the east coast.
Monday, October 3 he will have press availability from 4:00-6:00pm at El Pintos (10500 4th Street, Albuquerque, NM) restaurant in Albuquerque, topics to range from the 40 year tradition of the Balloon Fiesta to his current run for president.
